Patient Stories: Heroes On the Water

The Heroes on the Water (HOW) organization is dedicated in helping injured military personnel to relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate with society through kayak fishing and outdoor activities. Over the past few years thousands of participants have learned firsthand the results of the ‘triple therapy’ method of kayak fishing. This therapy contains three components - the physical aspect with paddling and fishing, the occupational aspect in learning new skills and a sport they can do for life, and the mental aspect in the relaxation and freedom out on the water.
